Release Notes:

Reasons for Proper: Track 2 had a glitch and had no id3tag,
plus it was mis-spelt. Tracks 3 and 4 were tagged the wrong
way round.

Few contemporary Brit rockers have been more widely ridiculed,
or even loathed, than Johnny Borrell. It says a lot about the
timid, softly-softly approach of the current crop of musicians
that JB should be so reviled.

On the face of it, Johnnys crimes match the standard-issue
charge sheet of the young upstart - modest talent struggling
to inhabit an ego the size of Wembley Stadium, supreme
arrogance fuelling a mouth as big as the Mersey Tunnel. And on
the third Razorlight album - a record once thought to be in
jeopardy because even Johnnys bandmates found him overbearing
- he plays to the gallery.

North London Trash is guttersnipe biography in the style of
Borrells heroes The Clash, and offers a cheeky but honest pen
portrait - Im really no one special/But Ive seen you do
much worse.

On folksy ballad Hostage Of Love, hes the ultimate martyr for
the cause - Words of derision I have swallowed with a
smile/For telling my story Ive been crucified.

Borrells Christ complex may, of course, mask a small
whimpering soul hounded by self doubt. But its the part hes
chosen to play. And he plays it well.

Surely its good to have ambition, something to aspire to? But
that means aiming higher than the shooting fish in a barrel
funk gunk of Tabloid Lover. Which, to his credit, he does for
the most part, snaring the angry modern poet mantle on Blood
For Wild Blood, before launching into Burberry Blue Eyes - a
seductively vicious attack on an aristocratic airhead shagging
indiscriminately while slumming it on the Kings Road.

In time-honoured Dylanesque fashion, Borrell matches
sensitivity to the savagery. You And The Rest ruefully
contemplates the challenges of monogamy (There are only two
women here/You and the rest that pass me by), while the
silken, reflective 60 Thompson, savours the attractions of
togetherness.

Throughout, Razorlights rock literacy is at least GCSE
Advanced Level and Johnny boys ability to rustle up a persona
that winds folk up seals the deal. Someone might want to break
it, gently, to Chris Martin and co that when it comes to
making rock n roll, niceness and modesty really arent that
important.

A good Christmas compilation should contain the following things--a selection of old classics to warm your cockles by the fireside, some of the classic pop titles that people always seem to find themselves singing along to in the pub on Christmas Eve, some carols and a handful of oddities to keep everyone on their toes. The Best Christmas Album in the World Ever manages to fulfil all these criteria--on the classic front there is Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" and Dean Martin's "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow", on the classic pop front there's Slade's "Merry Christmas Everybody" and Wizzard's "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday", traditional carols "Silent Night" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" head the field and as far as oddities go, look no further than the double whammy of "Lonely Pup (In A Christmas Shop)", courtesy of Adam Faith, and "Angels" by Robbie Williams (a pretty tenuous inclusion, especially considering the angel in the title is his mum). Soldout is an unexpected meeting of a guy and a girl, one night around a drink in a café.

David started making music early with his tape recorder, then he programmed a lot of music on his commodore, and amiga. After a while he got keyboards and started playing in bands. More into experimental and psychedelic electronic music. Charlotte got started on classical piano and guitars when she was a kid her biggest dream was to become a conductor. One day she switched from Chopin to PJ Harvey and her guitars got electric. They met and mixed their styles and influences.

People call it all different… electro-pop-rock with sometimes a little new-wave touch.

They released their debut album Stop Talking on the label Anorak Supersport. It went directly 14th in the Belgian charts. This single entered directly number 1 in two important Belgian radios. The media showed immediately a big interest in Soldout. The band got loads of interviews and very good articles in the media, magazines, newspapers and also on national television.

At the moment the album is out in Belgium, France, Holland, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Poland and theyre still looking to release it anywhere else.
